We are Chris, Jacquie and daughter Paris from West Midlands, UK and we are the “PETS” of Scarlett (Hungarian Vizsla), Kai, Stirling (Whippets-Brothers), Leo (Bichon Frise) not forgetting Chilli the Cat.

WHY DO WE CHOOSE TO FEED OUR DOGS NATURAL FOOD?

Leo, age 13, came to live with us just 8 weeks old back in 1993 a white fluffy bundle (still is!). We were advised by his breeder to feed him tinned puppy food and cereal for breakfast, as this is what she had lovingly feed all her new babies. Of course we took her at her word. Why wouldn’t we? At age 13 Leo has bad decay to his teeth although he did attend the vet for his annual check over. He no longer has his front incisors which can make eating hard food, like bones and commercial treats difficult at times. What can you do? After all there is no such thing as Doggy Dentures (YET!). Must say we felt bad about Leo and wondered where we could have gone wrong. Then.........

January 2006 we were happy to have Stirling and Kai come to live with us, aged 8 weeks. S & K are Whippets, litter mate brothers. They arrived 5th feb 2006 (1week later Scarlett arrived, boy what a bouncy entrance that was!) all in 2 months after we lost our beloved Whippet, Jack, 11th Dec 2005. To say we were “upset” about Jack leaving us at 18 months to run free over Rainbow Bridge, is an understatement. He was such a scavenger! And we miss him. The vet had said he was such a healthy dog, he examined him 2 days before he left us. The words “Jack must have eaten something!” will stay with me forever.So.................

As you can imagine with new puppies we wanted to make sure we looked after them in every way especially in the nutrition department. Research began! We wanted to know the best foods and what are not so good for our pups. We spoke to many dog owners, some who were feeding their dogs natural foods. Of course we listened a lot too, not just with our ears but with our eyes.

Friend of mine gave me a recipe for Liver Cake which is made from all organic produce. They loved it! Other dogs at the park loved it too. Owners asked “What is that? Can you make us some? And where can we buy it?” (some people just haven’t got the time, this doesn’t make them bad owners either).
So then we made other treats and the rest is history.
